First Five

Debbie looks at recent media coverage of terrorist attacks—and the relentlessly skewed and misleading and deceptive way they are covered and reported upon.  Americans must wake up and demand better.  And Americans need to recognize the dangers of the actual teachings of Islam—and the differences of Democrat and Republican Party perspectives on this issue.

Documentary filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza meets with Debbie to talk about his latest, called “Hillary’s America”, now showing in theaters nationwide.  D’Souza is a classic American patriot, a classic American ‘legal’ immigrant.  Passionate and articulate; a must-listen interview.

Stunning to think about:  Dinesh D’Souza was prosecuted and jailed by the Obama administration for his film-making and criticism of Obama.  In America.

D’Souza’s documentary, Hillary’s America, is a must-watch film, regardless of the viewer’s political philosophy.  Truth in history is essential to learning from history.  And America’s founding respect for the rule of law must be relearned and preserved.

In the second hour…

Leading lady Cari Kelemen joins Debbie for the second hour roundtable.

The Rapid Fire Question:  Re Bernie Supporters:  can Dems bring back these young socialists … or will they come to Donald Trump…and why?

Cari thinks Trump can get a few—those that aren’t ideological, but like the outsider v. insider theme, and sense the trade issues could be resolved better for America.  Trump looks a lot better than Hillary on those issues.

The Democrats’ haranque of Leon Panetta at their convention is stunning; his attempt to denounce ISIS was essentially greeted with “no more war!”.  Donald Trump’s ad with the widow of Ty Woods (killed at Benghazi) shows the contrast of the two parties’ perspectives on what must be done to defend America.

The role of Twitter in reshaping media narratives comes up for discussion.  Cari has data and metaphors to better understand this medium.

Will Hillary’s ‘woman card’ be enough?  Debbie and Cari don’t think the gender factor is going to matter; the need is for the best candidate to do the job.  Margaret Thatcher never emphasized her womanhood as a reason to vote for her; it was her political philosophy applied to the problems of her era that made her an exceptional leader.  She understood the fallacies of socialism, and was unafraid to say so.  Liberty was always the answer.
